Airtel Africa Tech Fellowship
The Airtel Africa Tech Fellowship is designed to support high‑potential African students from low‑income backgrounds to access and succeed in technology‑related university education.
More than a scholarship, the Fellowship combines full financial support, structured career readiness, industry mentorship, and real‑world exposure, creating a clear pathway from education to employment and leadership in Africa’s digital economy.

Impact
As of March 2026, 257 scholarships have been awarded across Airtel Africa markets. The program supports a minimum of 200 students annually, with a goal of supporting 1,000+ by 2030. By removing financial barriers and intentionally building skills, confidence, and professional networks, we hope to enable talented young Africans turn potential into impact and shape Africa’s digital future.

I am passionate about building intelligent technologies that create real-world impact. I am deeply interested in Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, backend development, data science, and system design that integrates software and hardware.
I value analytical thinking, creativity, innovation, and practical problem-solving. As an active member of the IEEE Puzzles Community, I enjoy structured problem-solving challenges that strengthen my creativity and technical thinking.
I aspire to become a leading innovator and systems engineer, building scalable, intelligent, and affordable technologies that transform healthcare, energy, and business systems across Africa.
Kisakye Esther Faith

As a Software Engineering student, I am interested in backend and frontend development, web design, database design, Java programming, and cybersecurity.
I value creativity, innovation, faith, service, and entrepreneurship. I aspire to build and sell systems that support businesses and communities, including a solution that could help NIRA track lost national IDs and improve the registration process.
Beyond technology, I enjoy R&B music, exploring fashion and lifestyle ideas, charity work, and learning from new cultures and experiences.
Akatuha Jordan Byaruhanga

My interest lies in building secure and reliable networks that can support national cyber defense. As a Cybersecurity and Networking student, I have become especially drawn to network engineering, where I can design systems that are not only efficient but also resilient against failure and intrusion.
I enjoy working with tools like Cisco Packet Tracer, Wireshark, and Linux because they make networking concepts practical and easier to understand. I am particularly strong in logical topology design, routing table troubleshooting, digital communications, and applying OSI layer principles.
My long-term goal is to contribute to protecting my country’s digital infrastructure by designing secure, fault-tolerant networks for critical systems.

I am also interested in community support work, especially initiatives that help vulnerable children and create better opportunities for those who need them most.
